Fall is a great time for holiday and themed races! There are so many on my list for the upcoming months.
On November 16, 2013, I’ll be running the Mustache Dache 5k in support of Movember.
Movember is a global men’s health charity to combat prostate and testicular cancer. The program is focused on awareness and education, living with and beyond cancer and staying mentally healthy.
Since 2003, 3 MILLION participants have raised over $444 MILLION for the Movember cause. The Movember campaigns are held all over the world.
This race is very important to me, because a member of my family has prostate cancer. The ability to give back to a cause that affects you personally is a great feeling.
Plus, who doesn’t want to wear a mustache? Regardless of your age or sex, everyone can rock a “mock” stache. Women can help the cause too!
Men have the ability to enter into the (not so serious) mustache contest. The Movember contest begins on November 1st with a clean shaven face and ends on the last day of the month. Many participants photograph their mustache progress throughout the month. You can learn more about the rules here.
Click here to register or to find out more about registration. Plus all my fabulous readers get 10% off the registration fee. Just use the PROMO Code: PNWMD13
After the race, there will be food trucks, a bull named “Clif”, a beer garden and lots of prizes.
Are you convinced? Come run or walk with me and show your support!
Are you going to do a themed run this fall?
Have you done the Mustache Dache?
XO, Tara
